my first play

this is great. read that book yesterday on playwriting; lot of it same stuff as screenwriting. so after yesterdays knees up slept in. kerry rings me to go round and be moral support, dunno why. i think esme is very nice. anyway fending off reecey conversations [da. da. da? da! etc etc] i sat down and wrote act 4. then 2. bits of 3. and finally 1. its all just scribbles...but its there!! i'm so chuffed!! it got all modern stuff, yet i dunno its very Greek in some ways. but its about a singer, so need songs. well the first ones are old stuff. but the big one at the end will have to be done specially. the play shows actors v audience; and what its about is 'greatness is not the same thing as success; the singer has to defy his 'audience ' to find it. but loses his loved ones in the process. good, huh? anyway kez lights up like a solar flare; an excuse to think about 'the adored one'!! to my amazement he's got a degree in film-making, can do song...and so can toni!! well i'm blowed. never thought of this; and its a straight swap; i have agreed to write out i dunno jokes/sketches but comical already. so he rings me tonight with what he wants; i ask him to do me that song. anyway raindance now; late tonight 'battle of good and evil' since innit bloody marvellous i've just seen how it should go...but it will have to wait. got to go!
